Caballos in Puerto Rico is an exposed reef break that does not work very often. Winter is the optimum time of year for surfing here. Offshore winds are from the south southeast and there is no shelter here from cross shore breezes. Groundswells and windswells are equally likely and the ideal swell direction is from the north. No reef break here. Good surf at all stages of the tide. Sometimes crowded. Beware of urchins, rips, rocks and sharks.
