Caballos in Puerto Rico is an exposed reef break that only works once in a while. Winter is the optimum time of year for surfing here. Works best in offshore winds from the south southeast and there is no shelter here from cross shore breezes. Tends to receive a mix of groundswells and windswells and the ideal swell angle is from the north. There is no reef break. Good surf at all stages of the tide. A fairly popluar wave that can sometimes get crowded Hazards include urchins, rips, rocks and sharks.
