Bruny Island - Coal Point Surf Guide
Coal Point on the West Coast is an exposed beach and point break that has fairly consistent surf. The best time of year for waves is autumn. Offshore winds blow from the north. Most of the surf here comes from groundswells and the ideal swell direction is from the southeast. Waves at the beach break both left and right and there is a left hand point break too. Best around mid tide. It very rarely gets crowded here. Watch out for rips, sharks and rocks.
