Covelong Point Surf Guide
Covelong Point in Tamil Nadu is an exposed beach and reef break that has reasonably consistent surf. Autumn and winter are the optimum times of year for waves. Works best in offshore winds from the west northwest with some shelter here from south southwest winds. Groundswells and windswells are equally likely and the ideal swell direction is from the east southeast. The beach break provides left and right handers and a right hand reef break too. Best around low tide. When it's working here, it can get crowded. Surfing here means negotiating dangerous rips.
