Works best in offshore winds from the west northwest and there is no shelter here from cross shore breezes. Most of the surf here comes from groundswells and the optimum swell angle is from the south southwest. Waves at the beach are both lefts and rights and a left hand reef break too. The quality of the surf isn't affected by the tide. When it's working here, it can get crowded. Watch out for rocks and locals.
