Rainbow Bay Surf Guide
Rainbow Bay on the Gold Coast is a sheltered point break that has quite reliable surf. Autumn and winter are the favoured times of year for waves. Works best in offshore winds from the south with some shelter here from east winds. Tends to receive a mix of groundswells and windswells and the best swell direction is from the southeast. The quality of the surf isn't affected by the tide. Likely to be crowded if working. Be wary of rips - they make surfing here dangerous.
